ARTDECKO
“Copy That, Roger” ~ 2025 is part of our ArtDecko wall art series, which is inspired by the classic tile patterns from the Art Deco art movement of the 1920s and 1930s. After experimenting with translating recycled skateboard lines into these patterns, we discovered that there was a bigger world of geometry behind them with endless possibilities. The experiment resulted in unique geometrical patterns that challenge and play with the viewer’s senses. The colourful skateboard veneers give depth to every pattern, creating three-dimensional effects that change every time you look at the artwork. This way every ArtDecko artwork embodies the playful and creative spirit of skateboarding.
COPY THAT, ROGER
A new chapter in the ArtDecko collection: Copy That, Roger — six geometric wall art pieces handcrafted from recycled Palace skateboard decks. Each artwork takes the shape of the Penrose triangle, an “impossible object” first drawn by Norwegian artist Oscar Reutersvärd and later named after mathematician Roger Penrose, who made the figure famous through his studies of visual perception and mathematical paradox.The triangle’s striking, paradoxical shape also found its way into the visual language of contemporary skate culture — notably inspiring Fergus “Fergadelic” Purcell, the creator of the Palace Skateboards logo.
Every triangle in this series carries its own unique color composition, determined by the layered veneers of the reclaimed Palace decks. The darker tones of the wood — typical of Palace’s skateboard design — bring striking contrast and depth to each piece, creating a dynamic play of light and perspective. Titled as a playful nod to its conceptual roots, the series pays tribute to the continuous reinterpretation of ideas — from mathematics to modern art, from skateboarding to design.

Copy That, Roger is a brand-new series of six wall artworks from our ArtDecko collection. Every artwork shares the same impossible geometry, yet no two are alike — each shows off its own vibrant color composition, pulled from the distinctive dark and vibrant veneers of the Palace decks.
